Career pathways for youth

Future Jobs Skills of Tomorrow prepares USVI’s youth and young adults for sustainable, well-paying careers through industry-certified training, hands-on experience, and direct connections to employment opportunities.

The NPO provides industry-certified workforce training that combines classroom instruction, firsthand technical skills, and career readiness support to prepare Virgin Islands youth and young adults for in-demand careers, with a current focus on Marine Service Technology using the nationally recognized American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) curriculum.

In addition to the grant given by the Liberty Foundation, Liberty donated a mobile hotspot to provide trainees with internet access both in the classroom and out in the field.

“We have a pre-apprenticeship workforce and training program, and we are currently working on the Marine Service Technology Program, focusing on youth 18 to 24-year-old. We also have a golf course maintenance program exposing high school students to the back end of the golf course, because there's so many jobs in that back end of the golf course. Thanks to the foundation for giving us a grant to support our project, and we’re going to put it to work while continuing to look for more resources,” said, Reuben Fenton, executive director of Future Jobs Skills of Tomorrow.
